Now he’s piloting a small enterprise incubator program via his new firm Rising Contigo, in partnership with Villa Comunitaria, to assist Latinx entrepreneurs within the inventive business set up themselves as entrepreneurs and construct generational and neighborhood wealth.
This small enterprise incubator is a part of the Generational Wealth Initiative funded by the Metropolis of Seattle’s Division of Neighborhoods (DON). Rising Contigo and Villa Comunitaria’s small enterprise incubator represents the equitable small enterprise ecosystem technique and is the primary pilot accepted by DON. Inside this technique, these networks will actively determine and deal with structural obstacles that curtail entry and alternative, significantly for enterprise house owners of shade, girls entrepreneurs, individuals with low incomes, and companies positioned in under-invested neighborhoods.

José hopes the incubator will educate the enterprise expertise these entrepreneurs want and join them to the precise sources to allow them to flip their inventive facet hustles into full-time jobs.
Undocumented for many of his life, José sees entrepreneurship as a substitute path to monetary stability. Whereas undocumented immigrants don’t have entry to Social Safety, retirement financial savings plans, and different advantages, they’ll construct wealth via small enterprise possession. José himself paid his means via faculty by working a cyber café out of his mother or father’s retailer, since he wasn’t eligible for monetary support. He believes others can create stability and prosperity for themselves in comparable methods.

José hopes for his small enterprise incubator to proceed into the longer term with many extra cohorts of entrepreneurs, and we’re thrilled to help him and Villa Comunitaria on this endeavor.
