The Oklahoma Division of Corrections will now enable loss of life row inmate Scott Eizember to have his religious advisor within the room throughout his execution on Thursday.
Eizember was initially denied his request to have Reverend Dr. Scott Hood on the execution as a result of he posed a safety risk and will disrupt the execution. Eizember challenged a lawsuit on Monday, saying the denial violated his spiritual rights.
DOC Director Steven Harpe says they modified their thoughts after listening to the desires of the sufferer’s household, saying the household is prepared for closure they usually don’t need the execution to be stayed due to the lawsuit. Eizember was convicted by a jury in 2003 of taking pictures and killing Patsy Cantrell and beating her husband AJ to loss of life.
He is set to be executed at 10 o’clock Thursday morning.
